Head of Communications, Berlin

SALARY: up to 100,000 euros

JOB SUMMARY:

A tier 1 design studio requires a Head of Communications.  This role is rounded, covering PR, communications (less marketing) however the main aim is to launch an exhibition which will be later this year and to manage the press/pr and launch the event.  The client is a global architecture firm with offices in Hong Kong, Beijing, Europe and London, and projects throughout China, South-East Asia, Europe and North-America, including many prolific and award-winning high-rise and large-scale projects.

The role will be supported by a graphics and coordinator and will work closely with a leadership team of 4 to manage global press/PR.   

Strategic tasks:

  • Help plan and implement communications campaigns that raise the profile of the practice and its growing portfolio of projects

  • Develop and implement social media content (Instagram, LinkedIn, WeChat etc.)

Daily business:

  • Work closely with colleagues across the company’s network of international offices

  • Create engaging and high-quality content for all fields of communications including project announcements, awards, exhibitions, lectures, publications, social media and website

  • Evaluate and handle incoming interview and image requests

  • Maintain and develop media relations

  • Keep the practice’s media database up to date and create distribution lists as needed

  • Media monitoring, update the press clippings archive and prepare clippings reports for projects and clients

  • Monitor industry news

Your qualifications:

  • Experience in international architecture PR and Media Relations preferred

  • Ability to construct and implement digital strategies with a focus on social media

  • Ability to organise workloads and keep to tight deadlines

  • Attention to detail, with strong copywriting and editing skills. Proficient knowledge of Adobe Suite package (Photoshop and InDesign) strongly preferred

  • Determined, proactive, hands-on and works well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to manage sensitive and often confidential information
