Senior Design Manager, Dusseldorf

Curio is retained by a global developer who are looking to appoint a concept design manager for their German, Dusseldorf studio. 

JOB SUMMARY:

This client is a premier global developer and operator of flagship destinations, with a portfolio valued at €54.5 Bn, in retail, offices convention & exhibition venues and in services. Assets are in the most dynamic cities in Europe and the United State - two continents and in 12 countries.

The role is responsible for in-house preliminary design concept plans for new build and extensions retail and mixed-use projects. You’ll prepare masterplans for the design re-structuring and renovation of the existing assets.  The role prepares design briefs for the architects and interior designers.  You’ll lead appointed designers in terms of design direction from preliminary design phase up to schematic design phase, in close coordination and collaboration with the development manager and other stakeholders. This is a guardian of design through all development stages ensuring that design solutions are provided as required and that any design variations fit within the overall product objective.

The client is looking for concept architects, visionaries who can bring new ideas to the table for buildings, and public realm.  Ideal candidate will have past knowledge of large-scale retail.  This is a career defining role to steer the direction of key assets across the global.  The client will want to see impressive portfolios demonstrating conceptual ideas and early-stage feasibility ideas.
