Associate architect, London

Medium sized studio – London projects
SALARY: £55,000 - £65,000

Curio is working with a design studio in Central London who are looking to appoint a design associate.   The team is around 30 in London and their projects are focused around workplace, residential and commercial interiors in prime spots across zones 1-2 in London.

JOB SUMMARY:

This is a strategic appointment for their London studio. The role is focused on design leadership able to bring new ideas to the table and encourage/nurture less experienced architects.  The studio already has a great design profile and why they are chosen over many of their competitors and are only looking to strengthen their design brand with talented designers.  You will join 2 associates with the expectation to move up into an associate director and director role.  Currently they do not have these levels in the architectural team.

You will be responsible for running projects through all RIBA stages and those who want to move into a client facing role will be encouraged.   Their project ranges between £1-£20million in project size and they have a track record of repeat business with developers and consultants across London.

The role mixes operational, commercial and strategy, responsible for the day-to-day running of your team and projects.  As the team is 30 in total this will suit associates who want exposure to all aspects of project running and more responsibility.  They currently have 2 associates who all report into the MD. The associates are the most senior team members apart from the MD and manage their projects/project team.

The culture and team are down to earth, they have a balanced approach to architecture and home-life.  Leaving the office at sensible times is encouraged, late nights do happen around project submissions and deadlines.  Their architects often have external interests, they are quite sporty although this isn't a deal breaker!
