JOB SUMMARY:

This is a role for a project manager or architect to join a growing project management consultancy that focuses on the residential and bespoke hospitality sectors. Their portfolio is based in Berkshire and they are growing to neighbouring counties.

This is an opportunity to work on luxury properties across the western home counties. The role will be supporting the design, development and construction of new build and refurbishment for properties on behalf of HNWIs. The role requires strong communicators able to manage the demands and expectations of clients and manage a wider consultancy team. You'll have the opportunity to work with leading designers, landscape, architects and specialists trades and art consultants. The project manager should be organised and understand the timelines of projects delivering on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate will need to be degree qualified and have demonstrable post-qualification experience in Project Management or Architecture in either high-end residential or hospitality ideally in the UK.

TASKS:

  • Providing risk, value management, and cost estimates

  • Providing elemental cost planning documentation for projects

  • Preparing tender documents

  • Analysing tender returns and providing recommendations for value engineering

  • Owning contract particulars, requirements, claims & disputes

  • Dealing with monthly valuations, applications for payment, negotiating on client’s behalf and issuing of interim payment certificates

  • Manage a project cycle from pre-planning through to completion

  • Coordinate with a variety of internal and external colleagues, vendors, suppliers, local government departments, consultants, contractors, etc. on all stages of the project in respect of regulations, schedule, cost, safety and quality

  • Attending internal and external project meetings, and providing regular progress updates for management’s review and approval

  • Working directly with clients and contractors to ensure project delivery to the highest standard

  • Liaising and speaking to customers daily to keep them updated

YOUR REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of 3 years experience project management (CIOB/RICS) or architecture (RIBA/ARB)

  • Strong commercial awareness and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience working in residential or hospitality projects in the UK

  • Proficiency in reviewing valuations, issuing payment notices, providing cost reports and undertaking both employer's agent/contract administration roles.

  • IT literate including MS Office with competence in Excel

  • Working knowledge of various forms of construction contracts, notably JCT

  • A can-do and positive attitude, in addition to an interest in design in the residential and commercial property sector

  • The role will be office and travel based with frequent local travel to our projects which are usually within a 1-hour drive from the office. Profiles from Reading, Oxford could also travel to the office. This will be a mix of office and site, profile should be able to to commit 2 days working from the office.
